Nela Hasanbegović (b. 1984, Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina)

Since 2013 she has been a PhD candidate in Sculpture Department at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Arts in Belgrade, and is currently a student of the final, third year of studies. She holds a master's degree from University of Sarajevo, Academy of Fine Arts, Department of Sculpture (2010). She earned a Bachelor of Arts in 2007 in the Sculpture Department, Academy of Fine Arts Sarajevo. She completed her secondary education in 2002, at the School of Applied Arts in Sarajevo, Department of Sculpture. She exhibited her artworks at 127 international and domestic group exhibitions and realized 19-solo exhibitions in Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad. Her artworks are included in several important museums and private collections. She has given talks at numerous panels and presentations, and held several lectures. She has participated in several symposia, artist colonies and residency programs, and she has won several prestigious awards and scholarships. She is a coordinator of several educational art workshops and art students' exhibitions that have been implemented in collaboration with the Art Gallery of Bosnia and Herzegovina. She is a member of the Association of Artists of Bosnia and Herzegovina since 2007 and the Association of Culture and Art Red since 2011, and is an active member of the American collective ARTNAUTS since 2015. Since 2012, she has been employed as a senior teaching assistant at the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Sarajevo, where she currently teaches Methods of Art Education.
