The Gallery of the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo


The Gallery of the Academy of Fine Arts in Sarajevo is the meeting place for audience and art production created within the curricular process and extracurricular processes of the Academy.

In addition to student solo exhibitions, organised within the 2nd cycle of studies, exhibitions and performances of the teaching and associate staff of the Academy, we organise workshops and group exhibitions, organised in collaboration with artists from other institutions of art.

The Great Hall of the Academy of Fine Arts may be rented for presentations, conferences, seminars and other events.

The revenue from renting of the Great Hall and the Gallery goes to the Fund for the Purchase of Operating Supplies, support to student projects/excursions and to the Academy Library.



In addition to basic gallery space, movable partitions enable the link between the gallery and the Great Hall and, thus, provide the possibility of expanding the original space and its reorganisation to client’s specific needs (gallery layout and photographs are attached).

The Gallery work plan id organised in parallel with semestral division of academic year. Requests for the use of the Gallery are adjusted to the start of each semester so that we could plan events in our Gallery.

Requests for the use of the gallery are to be submitted from 4 January to 4 February 2013, i.e. from 10 June to 10 July 2013.

Note: Two periods, 15 January (Tuesday)-15 February 2013 (Friday), and 15 June (Saturday)-15 July 2013 (Monday) are reserved exclusively for defence of university degree and exhibition of works in the 2nd cycle of studies.



The Gallery is equipped with the following items:

  • TV set LCD HDMI, 75 inch (1x),
  • Projector (1x),

  • Slide projector (1x),

  • Loudspeaker (2x),

  • Microphone with stockmount (1x),

  • DVD player (1x),

  • Desk (21x),

  • Chair (22x),

  • Projection screen


The Letter of Request consists of:

  1. Title of exhibition,

  2. Theme (summary),

  3. Detailed plan of mounting and dismantling, i.e. duration of exhibition

Interested individuals need to submit their requests within the aforementioned deadlines so that requested time slots could be secured. These requests need to be addressed to the Gallery Council. Before the exhibition is mounted, a statement needs to be signed by the users of the Gallery premises stating that the gallery would be brought back to its original state once the exhibition is closed. Failure to observe the conditions for the use of the Gallery premises, i.e. damages caused to the Gallery, shall be solved by way of assessment of damages that would then be compensated by the user of the premises.
